Happy St. Paddy's Day

Mom and I just returned from Ireland, where we spent the last 9 days. The purpose of the trip was for a rifle match, but they so cleverly planned it so we would be in Dublin on St. Patrick's Day. In Ireland it is no longer a day, but a five day festival and a four day national holiday. The highlight of the festival is the parade on St. Paddy's Day. It is not like any parade we have ever seen, and we've been to the odd parade from Canmore, Alberta to Lander, Wyoming. This one more like a Brazilian Carnival parade. Of the few floats that there were, they were all pushed by 4 to 5 boys. The only familiar thing was the 5 or marching bands from the States.

Funny Hats that showed off your St. Paddy's Day Spirit where the order of the day. This is my mom and a friend Dennis from California that was also there for the rifle match. Mom has a new hat now that she can sport out at the rifle range.
