Kris and I went on a day trip to the Mammoth Caves National Park for Memorial Day, which is just a little Northeast from Bowling Green, Kentucky. The park has 350+ miles of explored connected caves, and many more that they have not explored yet.
We went on 2 cave tours that day, and there are several more tours that we want to go back for. Some of them are the more extreme spelunking tours where the outfit you in all the necessary gear.Stalagmites and stalactites...which means that the stone is being formed up or down...I just don't remember which is which. If you really are curious, I'm sure my brother knows. This was part of the Frozen Niagara room.
It' really dark down there, but it was the only view we had of the underground lake. There used to be boat tours down there, but the cave was too unstable near the water to continue.
